Sweep & Clean

The Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) recommends that your chimney be swept as often as each cord of wood burned, but some systems will need to be swept more often in climates or situations that have poorer draft. How do you know if your chimney needs sweeping?

These are just a few indicators that may or may not be present:

  • Burnt wood odors coming from the fireplace when it’s not being used.
  • Fires that seem to burn poorly or that allow smoke spillage into the room.

Inspections

Annual chimney inspections help prevent fire and carbon monoxide poisonings. The Chimney Safety Institute of America recommends annual chimney inspections.

Did you know there are three inspection levels? These inspections range from looking for the basic soundness of your chimney to removing certain components where necessary.

Repair & Water Leaks

When moisture enters the chimney, it can lead to dangerous conditions and expensive repairs. Not all water intrusion immediately leaves readily visible signs of damage on ceilings, walls, or floors, but extensive microbial growth, rotting wood, and subtle damage to insulation, ceilings, walls, and floors may be slowly happening.

Our certified professionals do a Water Intrusion Assessment to identify problem areas and provide solutions. Our experienced team can identify the entry point(s), take care of fixing the chimney to stop the leaking, and repair the damage to the home.

Restoration & Rebuild

Sometimes chimney damage goes further than just needing minor repairs or repointing. This is when chimneys have to be fully (or partly) rebuilt to address a specific deficiency to protect your home.

Our certified chimney professionals are here to help make your chimney safe to use and feel like brand new!

Relining

A chimney liner is the first line of defense for the home. When a chimney liner is damaged there may be multiple industry options for repair (slip casting or coating) or replacement, but depending on original construction, the most common requirement is relining with a UL 1777 liner listed to zero clearance for fire safety. You can trust our Certified Chimney Reliners (CCP/CCR) to recommend the right range of options suitable for your particular chimney construction to ensure your home stays safe while you burn.

Caps, Chase Covers and Screens

An essential part of a chimney is not just the masonry behind the overall structure. It is also the cap, chase cover, or screen used to keep out unwanted pests, weather damage and more!

Flashing & Roofing

Chimney flashing is the custom formed metal that is designed to seal out water between the chimney structure and the roof. When your flashing has worn out over time or if it was improperly installed, water can get into your attic and home.

Whatever the deficiencies identified, our certified technicians can provide effective solutions to last a lifetime. Properly installed base and counter flashing should not have to be replaced again in the lifetime of the homeowner.
